Today, Chrysalis joined Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Chief Probation Officer Terri L. McDonald, Office of Diversion and Reentry Director Judge Peter Espinoza, and others to kick off the grand opening of DOORS at the Los Angeles County Reentry Opportunity Center (ROC) near Exposition Park.
DOORS, which stands for Developing Opportunities and Offering Reentry Solutions, is a collaborative effort between the Los Angeles County Probation Department, the Office of Diversion & Reentry, numerous community-based organizations, and other County agencies dedicated to providing critical services and life-stabilizing resources for individuals on probation and their families.
Together, service providers at DOORS will assist over 3,000 adult and juvenile probation clients – as well as all community members – with housing, legal aid, job training, civic engagement, health and mental health services, and more. By addressing the core needs of individuals transitioning out of incarceration, the County hopes to reduce recidivism and make a positive impact on the lives of people affected by the criminal justice system.
Chrysalis is honored to join with its fellow service providers and provide job-focused services as well as transitional employment opportunities.
“I believe this center will provide hope, resources, and opportunity to individuals accessing the probation office as well as the broader community,” said Mark Loranger, Chrysalis President & CEO. “Chrysalis and our partner organizations are grateful to the L.A. County Probation Department and the Office of Diversion and Reentry, along with the leadership of Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas in making this project a reality.”
