Meet Barry! Since April of this year, Barry has been volunteering with Chrysalis where he has been working with clients one-on-one to help better prepare them for the competitive job market. Pursuing his Master’s in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at USC Marshall School of Business, Barry joined Chrysalis because he was interested in working directly with the under-served community while learning about the inner workings of unique nonprofits.
“We create employment opportunities here. We interact with clients directly. We are adding value to clients, their lives, and opportunities for jobs and sustainability. It’s so amazing to see how they leave more hopeful than when they first came here. You can tell that this resource means so much to them.”
At Chrysalis, Barry works closely with clients who are in tough positions looking for work. He helps make the process easier for clients through working with them to build their resumes and interview skills.
This experience has given Barry the opportunity to help people who are looking to make changes and to become better.
“I am inspired by the determination and hope the clients have. These people are here and they want to change their lives. They don’t want to be outcasts.”
