Land Acknowledgment

All Chrysalis locations recognize and acknowledge the Chumash, Tongva, Yuhaaviatam, Sesevitam, and Acjacheman, the first people of these ancestral and unceded territories occupied by our institutions across Southern California. We honor their elders, past and present, and their descendants. We would also like to acknowledge unnamed, unknown, or forgotten nations. We recognize that the people of these first nations are still here and we are committed to lifting up their stories, culture, and community.

Chrysalis Downtown Los Angeles and Chrysalis at DOORS recognize and acknowledge the Tongva and Chumash, the first people of this ancestral and unceded territory now occupied by our institutions. Some of you may know the Tongva tribe as the Gabrieleño. However, this name was given to the group once enslaved by the Spanish. We honor their elders, past and present, and the Tongva descendants who are citizens of the Tongva/Gabrieliño Nation, and the Chumash, citizens of the Tejon Indian Tribe. We would also like to acknowledge unnamed, unknown, or forgotten nations. We recognize that the Tongva are still here, and we are committed to lifting up their stories, culture, and community.

Chrysalis Inland Empire recognizes and acknowledges both the Tongva and Yuhaaviatam, the first people of these ancestral and unceded territories occupied by our institutions. Some of you may know the Tongva tribe as Gabrieleño, however this name was given to the group once enslaved by the Spanish. We hope to honor their elders, past and present, and the descendants of the Tongva who are citizens of the Gabrielino/ Tongva Nation, as well as the Yuhaaviatam first citizens of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. We would also like to acknowledge unnamed, unknown, or forgotten nations. We recognize that the people of these first nations are still here and we are committed to lifting up their stories, culture, and community.

Chrysalis Orange County recognizes and acknowledges the Tongva (tong-vuh) and the Acjacheman (ac-ja-che-men), the first people of these ancestral and unceded territories that are now occupied by our institutions. Some of you may know the Tongva tribe as Gabrieleño, however this name was given to the group once enslaved by the Spanish. We honor their elders, past and present, and the descendants of the Tongva, who are citizens of the Gabrielino/Tongva Nation, as well as the Acjachemen Nation, who are descendants of the Juaneño Band of Mission Indians. We would also like to acknowledge unnamed, unknown, or forgotten nations. We recognize that the people of these first nations are still here and we are committed to lifting up their stories, culture, and community.

Chrysalis San Fernando Valley recognizes and acknowledges the Sesevitam, the first people of this ancestral and unceded territory that is now occupied by our institutions. We honor their elders, past and present, and the Sesevitam descendants who are citizens of the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians. We would also like to acknowledge unnamed, unknown, or forgotten nations. We recognize that the Sesevitam are still here and we are committed to lifting up their stories, culture, and community.
