At Chrysalis, we empower our clients to overcome their barriers to employment so that they can transition out of homelessness and poverty. Our program draws upon each client's individual strengths and teaches them concrete skills while building self-reliance. Since 1984, Chrysalis has helped over 42,000 people through its employment programs and services.
In 2012:
1,820 clients secured employment.
Over 400 clients a day received services at one of our three centers.
The average cost of our program is $2,000 per client – a fraction of the cost of similar government-sponsored employment programs.
On average, our clients make $10 an hour when they gain employment, considerably higher than California's $8 hourly minimum wage.
4,747 resumes written and practice interviews conducted.
620 volunteers facilitated classes, helped clients in their job search and
assisted with development efforts.
512 clients worked transitional jobs through Chrysalis Enterprises.
262,482 hours worked through Chrysalis Enterprises.
90% of funds raised went directly to client services.
$2.1 million in wages earned by Chrysalis Enterprises’ workers.
